The villa has a private garden and a swimming pool. 20 km (12.4 miles) away from Siena and 80 km (49.7 miles) from Florence, the villa is located in the heart of a protected area named Crete Senesi. The villa has 6 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. There is one double bedroom, four twin bedrooms, and one single bedroom. In addition, there are several large living areas. The villa The villa, together with an adjacent small church, was built in the XVII century by a famous family of bankers from Siena. The house, square-shaped just like a small-fortress, has its doors and windows framed by the typical Tuscan grey stone. The villa is surrounded by a garden with centuries-old trees overlooking an endless expanse of low hills. The villa is two-storey high, and each floor is 300 square meters (about 3,229 square feet). A lot of space for you to enjoy!! The main entrance is on the courtyard facing the small church. Right next to the entrance, you will see a spacious hall with sofas around an age-old fireplace. The room is furnished with beautiful antique furniture. The floor is in handmade terracotta tiles and the ceiling is supported by wood joists. The fireplace is impressive as it covers almost one entire wall of the room and is embellished by antique wooden chairs arranged around it. From the great hall you can reach a series of smaller living areas. There is a small reading or tea room, a room with a round card-table, and another small TV room furnished with couches. Besides, there is also a bathroom and a cellar. The ground floor also displays a dining room with a long seventeenth-century table. Two glass doors in this room will lead you to a garden where you will find an antique table with stone benches set in the middle of a large green lawn area. Close to the dining room is a big kitchen modernly equipped with a stove, an oven, a dishwasher, a fridge, and a freezer. A washing machine is also available. There is also a large and age-old fireplace in stone and brick where you will be able to prepare grilled meat. Broiled veal steak of the local breed called Chianina are world-famous for its quality and tastiness. The perfect set for a special barbecue!! The bedrooms and a second large and beautiful living area are found on the first floor of the villa. In the middle of this living room there is a great billiard table in perfect conditions to be used. There are also sofas and armchairs. Five bedrooms sleep two people each and are spacious and well-decorated with furniture dating back to late nineteenth century. One is a double bedroom, whereas the other four are twin bedrooms. All have windows overlooking the green scenery outside. In addition, every bedroom has its own large bathroom with a bathtub. The one single bedroom in the villa has a bathroom with shower. The little church next to the villa has been consecrated and masses are held every Sunday at 11 a.m. The garden and the swimming pool As guests at Villa Alba, you will be able to enjoy a park with centuries-old trees and a large lawn area where your kids can have outdoor fun all day long. It is in the garden that you will find a 10 x 5 meter (107 x 53 feet) swimming-pool exclusively at your disposal. There are tables, chairs, garden umbrellas, and deck chairs around the swimming-pool. Once lying in the sun, your eyes will meet the beautiful façade of the villa, the lawn, the trees and the flowers. A view of low and green hills will unfold before you. The air is fresh, clean and filled with the smell of flowers and herbs. You will be able to spend long and pleasant hours outdoors accompanied either by your friends, a book in hands, or a glass of good Tuscan wine. The place Villa Alba is in the middle of a farming estate of more than a thousand hectares (about 2,471 acres) on the hills near Siena. The area is part of the "Crete Senesi", a territory where low argillaceous hills are spread out as far as meets the eye. You will spend your vacation in the middle of the most famous and reproduced Tuscan scenery both in cinema and paintings. Here every season of the year carries its fascinating trait: in spring, hues of light green cover the hills and lawns; in summer, the golden color of wheat takes over the hills; and during fall, thousands of swarthy and dark green shades dominate. The farming estate organically grows wheat used for the making of pasta, fodder for its own livestock, the Chianina cattle breed, and extra-virgin olive oil. Villa Alba is the main house of a small hamlet dating back to the medieval period. The current structure of the villa and the hamlet date back to the XVII century. Both villa and hamlet have been renovated into vacation houses; a process which respected the former architectural structure of the buildings. As guests of Villa Alba, you will have complete privacy as the garden and the swimming-pool are available exclusively to you. Guests of other vacation houses in the hamlet have another swimming-pool and garden at their disposal. As you arrive, look around. You will feel as if time had slowed down. All the surroundings are beautiful, tidy, and peaceful. The kind staff at the reception will contribute to such feeling of tranquility with their warm welcome greetings. The reception is in charge of providing any necessary information on tourist activities in the area. A tennis court and a playground are shared with other guests in the hamlet. Trekking trails of varying degrees of difficulty will enable you to visit enthralling angles of the farm.
