The use of the swimming pool and the garden is shared among the guests of the other apartments. It has a parking space. It has two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room with kitchenette and a divan bed that opens into two single sleeping places. Casa Settima is on the ground floor of an ancient villa with thick stone walls, which is literally built straight into the cliffside. It is built on sloping land, along the flank of a narrow valley. This is the Valley of the Dragon, a green canyon enclosed by craggy walls. Along these rocky cliff walls, there are alternating areas, some covered with the rampant natural Mediterranean vegetation, and others cultivated with orderly lemon bowers, bringing to life a landscape of incredible beauty, shaped through the centuries by humans and by nature. Here and there, on the rocky ridges that overhang the valley, and the areas carved out of the cliffs along the coastline, you will see small white houses, or a little church, or the remnants of a medieval guard tower. A river runs through the bottom of the valley, and there is just a pedestrian pathway along the coastline, so the only noise you will hear is the water rushing towards the sea, and the lighter whispering of the breeze that blows off the sea, across the mountains and through the valley. Upon your arrival at Casa Settima, you will be welcomed by the spacious terracotta-paved patio, which is equipped with table and chairs, umbrella, and deck chairs. The patio of Casa Settima is like a large terrace, which has a view of the swimming pool, located further below, and of the flower-adorned sun deck that surrounds it. Sitting in the open air on your patio, you will see in front of you a broad view of the valley, ending with the rocky buttresses that close it. On one side of the patio, you will have an area in which there are flowers, fig trees, and exquisite grape pergolas. On the other side, a sturdy hedge separates the patio reserved for your use from a part of the garden in which there is a large stone barbecue area and a wood-burning oven where you can make pizza. Next to these, under a pergola, there are tables and wooden benches, available for use by all the guests. From the patio, you enter into a large living room, which contains the kitchen area, the dining table and a divan bed for two people. From the living room, a corridor leads to the two bedrooms and the bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a double bed, and the other one has two single beds. The bathroom is with shower. The bedrooms have windows with a view of the patio. The kitchen is equipped with four-burner cooker, oven and refrigerator with freezer. The furnishings are graceful and comfortable. The location Casa Settima is one unit of a residential complex consisting of a villa and three annexed buildings, scattered across a few hectares of terraced land cultivated with olives, lemons and the wild-growing Mediterranean scrub native to the Amalfi Coast. The complex is situated on the slope of a small, narrow valley known as the Valley of the Dragon, where it is perched above the village of Atrani, which is roughly 2 km (about 1.3 miles), and beneath the residences of Ravello, located at roughly 4 km (about 2.6 miles). The valley is traversed by just a pedestrian path, but the complex is easily reachable by car, journeying along a road adjacent to the valley, and is equipped with parking. The swimming pool All the guests of the complex will enjoy access to a lovely pool, equipped with umbrellas and deckchairs. Stretched out in the sun on the terrace surrounding the pool, you will be able to enjoy a rich and strikingly unique panorama. If you raise your eyes upwards, you will see just above you the rocky outcroppings on which Ravello clings to the cliffside, and in particular, from the balustrade adorned with statues, you will see the terrace of Villa Cimbrone, known as “The Infinite.” Naturally, you must not miss the chance to visit Villa Cimbrone, and this terrace: from here, you can enjoy one of the most beautiful and romantic panoramic views in the world! Standing by the pool, you will see before you the opposite side of the valley, where jagged cliffs alternate with lush terraces cultivated with lemon groves. Below, framed by the nearly vertical walls of the valley, your gaze will find the glittering gem that is the town of Atrani, as well as the ocean beyond. The pool and the gardens are illuminated in the evenings. The sea and the beach Next to the complex to which Casa Settima belongs, the ancient pedestrian path and stairway that links Ravello with Atrani passes close by. Descending by this path, you will pass through the center of Atrani, which is accessible only to pedestrians. In a few minutes, you will arrive in the gracious and historic piazza with shops, cafés/bars and restaurants with open-air tables. Seated at these tables, you will not find just tourists, but also many local residents. You will find it delicious to rest here, enjoying an Italian gelato, and watching the world pass by while doing absolutely nothing. The beach is 20 meters (about 65 feet) from the piazza; it is a scythe-shaped wedge, strikingly beautiful both by day and by night, with the moon over the sea. The foot path which descends from Casa Settima to the sea consists of about 300 stairs, distributed along the pathway. To get back up to the house, you can take the bus towards Ravello from Atrani, and you will arrive in just a few minutes. You can also reach Amalfi on foot, walking along a romantic pedestrian alley which will allow you to avoid the nuisance of cars. Also on foot, if you are in good shape, you can take an ancient stairway to climb up to the village of Ravello. You will arrive more quickly than if you drove along the paved roadway. And furthermore, by walking you will be able to discover breathtaking views. Naturally, all these locations are also reachable by car or by bus. But, during your vacation, do take the time, at least now and then to take some of these walks. You will discover that this is the best way to enjoy the beauty and unique nature of these places. Besides being able to walk to the beach, in this area you will have a chance to swim in rather characteristic places: from the port of Amalfi, every 30 minutes, you will be able to board small boats that will take you, in ten minutes, to some of the most beautiful beaches, inset in the rocky coast, which can only be reached by boat. These small beaches are very romantic, the sea is stunning, and you will also find beach facilities, such as cafés/bars and restaurants, on the free beach. Nearby tourist attractions From the docks in Amalfi you will also be able to board ferries and hydrofoils to Positano, Capri, Salerno, Sorrento and Naples, as well as mini-cruises for tourists. You must indeed take a tour of the coast from the sea. From Casa Settima it is also possible to reach the tourist spots of the Amalfi Coast by bus. If you are fond of archaeology, Pompeii, Herculaneum and Paestum are easily within reach, and, of course, Naples and Salerno as well. Staying at this house you will be able, comfortably and without the need of a car, to reach the beach, to take guided tours, visit the characteristic fashion and artisans' shops, as well as attend the many cultural and artistic happenings that take place throughout the year. Those who like go out at night will find that the Amalfi Coast has a lot to offer: from piano-bars to very exclusive night clubs. The closest airport is Naples.
