Holiday Home Description

Casa Marco is a lovely apartment of 50 square meters (approximately 540 square feet) which sleeps four persons. It has a large terrace of 15 square meters (160 square feet) with a view of the sea. It is approximately 100 meters (110 yards) from the beach.

It has a bedroom with a double bed, a mezzanine level two single beds, a living, a bathroom with a shower and a kitchen.

Casa Marco is located in Atrani, an ancient charming fishermen's village which is 900 meters (half a mile) from Amalfi.

It is an ancient house of the historical center of the village, just a few steps from the characteristic little square at the heart of Atrani, with its shops, bars and open-air restaurants. From the square, going under an arch, you will be able to reach the beach.

From Casa Marco you will also be able to walk to another charming beach, just out of the village, that stretches in a small inlet in the rocky coast.

Casa Marco is an authentic ancient house of the coast of Amalfi, renovated with love by its owners, who spend their own vacations there.

It is in a quiet place, inset as it is among the alleys and stairways of the ancient burg. The place is comfortable as well, since with a short walk you will be able to reach the main road or the sea.

To reach the house you will have to walk along a short pathway which includes 87 steps.

The house is located on the first floor. You will enter into a corridor, on whose sides the doors of the bedroom with a double bed, of the bathroom and of the kitchen open. The bedroom with a double bed has a window with a view of the surrounding hamlet. The bathroom has a shower.

The kitchen is equipped with four-burner cooker, oven, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher. Next to the kitchen there is a small terrace, with a view of the picturesque burg of Atrani. On this small terrace you will find a small room with a washing machine and a toilet.

The rooms have high vaulted ceilings, which makes the house fresh even when it is hot outside.

At the end of the corridor you will find the living room. The living room is very airy and luminous, and it has a window and a balcony with a view of Atrani and of the sea. The living room is furnished with table, chairs and sofa. A wood stairway will take you from the living room to a roomy mezzanine level, where you will find two single beds.

From the living room you will be able to enter a nice rectangular terrace, from where you will be able to enjoy a nice and wide view of the hamlet of Atrani and of the sea. You will find that the terrace is equipped with a beach umbrella, a table, chairs, and deck chairs.

You will enjoy relaxing on the terrace of Casa Marco: from here your sight will move from a wide view of the sea to the picturesque burg of Atrani. The hamlet of Atrani is unique in the world. It is something as picturesque as you can imagine: it is a dense set of small colored buildings, which cling to the slopes of the rocky cliff. They are enclosed by the cliff as if they were inside a shell which opens toward the sea.

If you look down, you will have fun uncovering the extraordinary "spontaneous" architecture of the village, made by a maze of domes, white terraces, narrow alleys and stairways. It is a result of the characteristic terrain of the coast, and an important part of its charm.

Since access to Atrani is prohibited to cars, you will be able to reach Casa Marco by foot only, along a charming white alley that stems from the main square, climbing 87 steps.

Shops, restaurants and meeting points are all right at hand. You can walk to Amalfi, both along the main road or along a romantic pedestrian alley, to avoid the nuisance of cars.

By foot, climbing an ancient stairway, you can also quickly reach Ravello, even more quickly than by car. And walking along this stairway you will be able to enjoy breathtaking views. During your stay, allow yourself the time to take these hikes. It is a great approach to the unique beauty of these places.

Besides being able to walk to the beach, in this area you will have a chance to swim in rather characteristic places: from the docks in Amalfi, every 30 minutes, you will be able to board small boats that will take you, in ten minutes, to some of the most beautiful beaches, inset in the rocky coast, which can only be reached by boat. These small beaches are very romantic, the sea is beautiful, and you will also find beach facilities, such as bars and restaurants.

From the docks in Amalfi you will also be able to board ferries and hydrofoils to Positano, Capri, Salerno, Sorrento and Naples, as well as mini-cruises for tourists. You must indeed take a tour of the coast from the sea.

From Casa Marco it is also easy and practical to reach the tourist spots of the Amalfi Coast by bus. If you are fond of archaeology, Pompeii, Herculaneum and Paestum are easily within reach, and, of course, Naples and Salerno as well.

Staying at this house you will be able, comfortably and without the need of a car, to reach the beach, to take guided tours, visit the characteristic fashion and artisans' shops, as well as attend the many cultural and artistic happenings that take place throughout the year. Those who like go out at night will find that the Amalfi Coast has a lot to offer: from piano-bars to very exclusive night clubs.

The living room has a table, chairs and a sofa. From the living room you can enter a mezzanine level with two single beds.

The bathroom has a shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with four-burner cooker, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

A 25% deposit is paid at the time of booking. The balance is due 60 days prior to arrival at the property.

Upon arrival at Casa Marco the property manager will ask you to pay a security deposit of EUR 100, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you prior to your departure less any charges for accidental damages to the property.
