Casa Costantina is an ancient house of Praiano which sleeps four people, of 50 square meters (approximately 540 square feet), with air conditioning and a terrace of 50 square meters (approximately 540 square feet) with a wide and spectacular view of the sea and of the coast. It has one bedroom, a bathroom, a living room and a kitchen.

Casa Costantina is located in the heart of the historical center of Praiano, which is an ancient fishermen's village located halfway between Amalfi and Positano (more or less 7 km/4 miles both from Amalfi and Positano), and made up of a cluster of small white houses that cling to the rocky cliff, sheer above the sea.

Seen from a distance, it seem that the houses have been built one above the other, following the contour of the steep coast. When you take a closer look you find out that they are separated by thriving gardens and vegetable gardens dug into the side of the cliff. They are reached along narrow alleys and picturesque "scalinatelle" (stairways cut into the cliff), which seem to reach for the sky or dive straight into the sea.

The only transportation in this area is provided by your own legs, and you will be happy to walk in this place, when at every turn along your path you will discover a new charming view and unexpected and bright seascapes.

The area of Praiano where Casa Costantina is located is inhabited by authentic locals, who live their peaceful life framed by the splendid natural beauty of the coast, of the sky and of the sea, far away from the noise of traffic.

At close distance from the villa you will not find crowds of tourists, nor the clutter of tourist shops and restaurant: you will see just a few shops selling basic items, and the friendly faces of the locals that you will meet in the streets. By the way, don't be surprised if everyone here will be saying hello when they meet you in the street - get ready to greet them and to smile back!

Still, the vitality and the happy vacation life of the coast of Amalfi are close at hand: starting at just a couple of kilometers (miles) from the villa you will find nice restaurants and wonderful night club on the sea. At approximately 6 km (4 miles), in Positano, there are colourful shopping streets, where you will be able to shop for fashion and local hand-made goods. By the Spiaggia Grande (the main beach) of Positano you will find famous tourist attractions.

You will reach Casa Costantina from the main square in the center of Praiano, climbing approximately 80 steps. This square (called Piazza Antico Seggio) is where the local bus station is, and it is the farthest point that can be reached by car. Beyond this square the center of Praiano is made up of picturesque alleys and stairways where you can only walk.

You will enter the house from the terrace. You will be immediately drawn by the extraordinary 360-degree view that you will be able to enjoy there: in front of you there will be an unlimited horizon of azure sea and blue sky, at your back an amphitheater of high rocky coast that steeply dives into the sea, covered by clusters of small white houses and verdant with lemon trees.

The air is clear and perfumed, the colors are vivid, all around there is silence and tranquillity. You will be happy to have a part in this heavenly scenery, and you will have a hard time taking your eyes off of it throughout your stay.

The terrace is nice and welcoming: there is a beach umbrella and deck chairs, a table with chairs, and a lot of space to relax and lie in the sun. You will be able to eat your meals "al fresco", to admire the extraordinary sunsets on the sea, or to dine in the light of the stars and in the reflection of the moon in the sea.

The interior of the house is elegant and welcoming as well: from the terrace you will enter the living room, which is equipped with a table with chairs and with a divan bed that can sleep two guests. From the living room you go through a small access area to reach a nice bedroom with a double bed, an elegant bathroom with shower and the kitchen. The kitchen also has a glass door to enter the terrace, and right next to it, on the terrace, you will find a large table with chairs for your outdoor meals.

The kitchen has a four-burner cooker, an oven, a refrigerator with freezer and a washing machine.

You will be able to park your car in any available free parking space at approximately 250 meters (275 yards) from the house.

Grocery stores and cafes are at approximately 150 meters (170 yards) from the house. Other shops and nice restaurants on the sea are at 2 km (1.5 miles).

If you would like to go to the beach, the closest one is the beach of Praiano called "Gavitella", located in a picturesque inlet right at the feet of the village.

You will reach it by going by bus to the main coastal road, and then walking along a path that includes 300 steps and 200 meters (220 yards) through the ancient burg of Vettica di Praiano. The beach is at the bottom of a small and verdant rocky inlet.

During the good season you will be able to reach in a comfortable and suggestive way the beach of the Gavitella by sea. Indeed, a ferry service with small boats will take you to this beach both from the beach of the Praia and from the beach of Positano. The service is provided by the manager of the beach facilities at the Gavitella and it is complimentary for customers of the facilities or of the restaurant.

Remarkable, both to see and to swim in, close to the beach of Gavitella, is the "Fontana dell'Altare" (the fountain of the altar): a natural swimming pool dug by the sea in a cave.

Other famous beaches nearby are La Praia (approximately 3 km/2 miles), and the beach of Positano (approximately 7 km/4 miles). At these beaches you will find beach facilities and a wide choice of bars/cafes, suggestive restaurants and clubs, open in the evening as well.

If you like hiking, in the area you will find walks that are famous for their extraordinary beauty, such as the "Sentiero degli Dei": Path of the Gods.

Casa Costantina is the right place to stay if you are looking for the most authentic charm of the Amalfi Coast, just out of the frantic holiday life of the most crowded areas.

The tourist spots of the coast are easily reached, since just a few steps from the house you can take the local bus, which connects Praiano to the beach of Praia (3 km, 2 miles) and with Positano (7 km, 4 miles).

The local bus will take you to the stop for the long distance bus that will allow you to reach Amalfi, Positano, Sorrento, Naples, Pompeii, Paestum and so on.

Ferries to reach Capri, as well as the other villages along the coast and the other islands of the Gulf of Naples, are available in Positano (7 km, 4 miles) and in Amalfi (8 km, 5 miles).

You will be also able to rent boats, practice diving, take part in fishing trips and mini-cruises along the coast. It is possible to reserve day trips with tourist buses or private minivans to visit Pompeii, Paestum, the Royal Palace of Caserta and other interesting destinations.

It is also possible to take part in the numerous cultural and folkloristic happenings that take place in the area throughout the year. Among these there are the famous classical music concerts and festivals that take place in Ravello (at approximately 10 km/6 miles from Praiano).

It has one bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom with a shower, a living room and a kitchen.

You will enter the house from the terrace. You will enter into the living room, which is equipped with table and chairs and with a divan bed that sleeps two people. From the living room, going through a short corridor, you will be able to reach the bedroom with a double bed and the bathroom. From the living room you can also enter the kitchen. The kitchen has a glass door to enter the terrace, and it is equipped with four-burner cooker, oven, refrigerator with freezer and washing machine.

To reach the house you will need to climb 80 steps from the nearest square. The local bus stops on this square, and here there are also a some public paid parking spaces.

You will also be able to park your car in any available free parking space at approximately 250 meters (275 yards) from the house.

A 25% deposit is paid at the time of booking. The balance is due 60 days prior to arrival at the property.

Upon arrival at Casa Costantina the property manager will ask you to pay a security deposit of EUR 100, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you prior to your departure less any charges for accidental damages to the property.
