Casa Elga is an apartment of approximately 90 square meters (970 square feet)
which sleeps six persons, with a garden and a view of the Tuscan countryside. It
is at 6 km (4 miles) from San Gimignano.
Casa Elga covers the entire first floor of a two-story villa. The villa has a
garden with a lawn of approximately 100 square meters (1075 square feet) and a
wood of approximately 1000 square meters (10750 square feet).
It has two double bedroom, a bathroom with shower, a larger living room with two
sofas, armchairs and a satellite television. A divan bed in the living room
provides a sleeping place. There is also a large kitchen/dining room with a
fireplace. The kitchen is equipped with four-burner cooker, oven, washing
machine, refrigerator with freezer.
From the windows of all the rooms there is a nice view of the surrounding
countryside.
As a guest of Casa Elga you will have at your disposal an area of the garden
equipped with beach umbrella, table, chairs and barbecue.
The villa is an ancient Tuscan farmhouse that has been restored with loving
care. The floors are tiled with ancient terracotta tiles, and the ceiling is
made with wood beams. In the kitchen you will find a huge ancient fireplace.
The furnishing is complete and welcoming, and it will make you feel like a guest
at a friend’s house.
There is plenty of parking space and the house is equipped with central heating.
You will be welcomed by the owner, who lives in a distinct apartment on the
ground floor of the villa. She speaks English and German, and she will be
available, very discreetly, for any need or information.
The house is located in a tiny hamlet of San Gimignano, made up of three or four
ancient stone buildings surrounded by the countryside and by the wood. It is
situated on the slopes of the hill on the top of which the famous medieval burg
stands.
The bus stop is at 600 meters (660 yards) from the house. A supermarket is at 3
km (2 miles). Other shops and restaurants are at 6 km (4 miles), in San
Gimignano. The closest train station is Poggibonsi.
Casa Elga is at approximately 30 km (18 miles) from Siena and 40 km (25 miles)
from Florence, in an excellent position to visit the most beautiful art cities
of Tuscany with short trips.
