It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious living room with fireplace, a kitchen, a dining room and a terrace overlooking the historical center of Florence. The apartment is at approximately 100 meters (110 yards) from Piazza della Signoria, and at a short distance from the main tourist spots of Florence, such as the Uffizi Gallery, the Ponte Vecchio, Giotto's bell tower, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore with Brunelleschi's dome, and the many other historical and artistic treasures that the historical center keeps. The apartment is on the first floor of a historical high-class building of the fifteenth century, whose entrance is located in a pedestrian alley. To reach it you will need to climb two flights of an ancient stairway made of Firenzuola stone, the characteristic grey stone of the Tuscan buildings. Once you are on the first floor, you will leave the stairway and exit outdoor, in a small private yard from where you will enter the apartment. The apartment has spacious rooms with ancient vaulted ceilings. The floors are tiled with the original red Tuscan terracotta tiles. In the living room there is a long white sofa and armchairs placed by the fireplace. The fireplace, which is an original piece of the fifteenth century, is decorated with small marble columns. On a desk you will find a fax machine and an Internet connection, which are available upon request. In addition there is a television with VCR and a stereo set. You will find that this mix of ancient and modern items, in all the rooms of the house, is full of charm. It testifies the long history and the many lives that have been spent inside these walls as the centuries went by! It will be surprising to think that somehow you will also be part of this history, and this thought will add even more excitement to your stay in Florence. From the living room you will be able to enter an access area that will take you to the two bedrooms with a double bed and to the two bathrooms. The bedrooms are elegant and roomy. One of the bathrooms has a shower, the other has a bath tub with shower head. From the living room you will also be able to enter a small bedroom in which a single bed has been placed. Appartamento Artemisia has also got a dining room, connected to a spacious kitchen. On a wall of the room an ancient fresco has been recently recovered thanks to a restoration. The kitchen is equipped with four-burner cooker, oven, microwave oven, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher. There is a small laundry room with a washing machine. An external stair will take you from the patio which is in front of the apartment to a terrace located on the roof of the apartment itself. You will be pleasantly surprised when you get there: it is hard to find an apartment with a terrace to enjoy the sun and the outdoor in the historical center of Florence. The terrace is shaded by a graceful pergola, under which there are a table and chairs to relax "al fresco". On the terrace you will enjoy a rather peculiar view of the roofs of the surrounding buildings, of the top of the tower of Palazzo Vecchio and of a corner of the Vasari Gallery of Pitti Palace. The balance is due 60 days prior to arrival at the property. Security Deposit Upon arrival at Appartamento Artemisia the property manager will ask you to pay a security deposit of EUR 250, payable in cash.
