It has an amazing view of the sea, large terraces, a swimming pool and direct access to the sea. It is set into the green of the rocky cliff, sheer above the sea, halfway between Amalfi and Positano. It has three bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom, a sitting room with a sofa and a fireplace, a roomy living room with sofas and dining area, a large kitchen and two large terraces filled with flowers and with a view of the sea. A short walkway will take you from the villa to the sea. It is located at approximately 2 km (1.2 miles) from Praiano, and at 1 km (0.6 mile) from the beach of Marina di Praia. The villa stands in a spectacular point of the coast, where the cliff, dropping down almost vertically into the sea, makes steeples and pinnacles. From every point of the terraces and of the house you will see only sea, sky, and two nearby capes, between which, hidden from the view, there is the charming beach of Praia. On one of the capes you will be able to sea an ancient circular watch tower (called Torre Asciola), which was built to sight the Saracens that during the Middle Age used to infest the coast. Nowadays this tower is a reference point for refined vacation life, as in the surrounding, hosted by caves dug by the sea, you will find bars, restaurants and night clubs. Villa Brigida, as well as the other two or three villa that stand on the same tract of the coast, have been built by partly digging the rooms into the cliff. The roofs have been changed into terrace-gardens, so that if you visit the coast from the sea you will have a hard time figuring that behind the lemon pergolas, the flowers and the thriving Mediterranean vegetation there are some houses. Villa Brigida is placed halfway between the coastal road and the sea. The entrance gate to the property is at the level of the road. You will be able to enter with a car and park in a reserved parking space. A flight of stairs will take you to the first terrace, built on top of the villa. The terrace is paved with terracotta tiles, and it decorated with flowered pots. It is partly shaded by a brickwork pergola, under which you will find a table with chairs. You will not be able to avoid stopping here for at least a moment: at your back there is an amphiteater of vegetation and rocks, in front of you the dazzling view of the blue sea and of the coast, framed by flowers. You will immediately sense that you have entered a new dimension, different from everyday life: here everything is beauty and harmony, the air is thin and perfumed, the colors are vivid. You will look around and feel inside you that joy of life that will make you feel happy for being here, part of so much beauty for the entire length of your stay. Another flight of stairs will take you inside the villa. You will enter a magnificent living room, furnished with large sofas and a table with chairs. From the living room you will be able to enter a patio equipped with an awning and garden furniture. From the patio you will need to descend five or six steps to enter the second terrace of the villa. This is even nicer and better furnished than the first one, with the same splendid view of the sea. This is a terrace of approximately 100 square meters (1076 square feet), which stretches in front of all of the rooms. Here, among jars filled with flowers and vines, you will find tables, sun lounges and deck chairs to enjoy the sun. Part of the terrace is shaded by a pergola, under which a long brickwork bench with pillows and tables made in Vietri ceramics have been placed, ready to welcome your relax "al fresco". In a corner there is an outdoor shower. The terrace reaches the area where the swimming pool has been placed. The swimming pool is at the same level of the terrace, and it is hidden from the view by a barrier covered by perfumed vines. The swimming pool is shared with the guests of another nearby villa, which is located at the side of Villa Brigida, at a lower level. The swimming pool is open from Spring to Fall. From the swimming pool area you will be able to reach the sea along a charming path cut into the cliff. A the sea level you will find a platform where you will be able to enter the water. The path includes 135 steps, and it is shaded by a pergola. As you walk down to the water, a small, charming rocky inlet will appear. At the end of the inlet there is a tiny beach, that can only be reached by the sea, where the water is so clear that the bottom can be seen. The platform at the sea level is equipped with a shaded area and with sun lounges. A point where a boat can berth is also available. The platform and the access to the sea is shared with the guests of the nearby villa as well. The interior of the villa is just as charming as the outdoor. The windows are screened by wrought iron grates, that keep out the uncontainable light coming from outdoor, as well as the heat. This way the rooms are kept pleasantly shaded and fresh. In each room the window look like vivid and ever-changing paintings, their subject being the sky, the sea, the coast. As a remainder of the fact that the villa has been partly dug into the rock, the long corridor that leads to the three bedrooms has a wall made of rock itself. A collection of objects related to the ancient local customs has been placed all along the corridor and makes the place even more suggestive. The floors are tiled with hand-painted majolica tiles. The furnishings are well appointed and rich in object made by local artisans. All of the rooms are located on a single level. You will enter a large living room where you will find dining tables and sofas. From the living room you will be able to enter the terrace. On one side of the living room there is the kitchen area, roomy and well equipped and with large windows with a view of the sea. From the opposite side of the living room you will enter a sitting room with a fireplace, where you will also find the satellite television, the cd player with radio and an Internet connection. The corridor dug into the rock leads to the three spacious bedrooms. Each of the bedrooms has a bathroom with a shower. Two of them have a double bed and one has two French beds. The three bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning. The villa has also a fourth bathroom without shower. Villa Brigida is equipped in a very comfortable way: central heating for all of the rooms, television, telephone, a large and well equipped kitchen with dining area, four-burner cooker, hood fan, microwave oven, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.
