Casa Ombretta is an apartment of 70 square meters (approximately 750 square
feet) which sleeps four persons, with a view of the hills and of the vegetation.
It has a shared swimming pool and a shared garden.
Casa Ombretta is part of a small complex of holiday houses, originally an
ancient farmhouse, and made up of two buildings for a total of six apartments.
The buildings are surrounded by four hectares (10 acres) of land and by the
vegetation and the peace of the gentle Tuscan hills.
The guests of the small complex share a nice swimming pool of 7 by 15 meters
(23 by 50 feet), surrounded by a large green lawn where you will find tables,
chairs, white beach umbrellas and deck chairs. A group of century-old oak trees
offer their natural shade for you to relax “al fresco”.
The garden is also equipped with an external cold shower and a brickwork
barbecue.
All around, from the villa and from any point of the garden, your sight will
be able to wander free over an uninterrupted horizon of hills, covered here and
there by the neat rows of Chianti vines, or by the silver-green leaves of the
olive trees, or by the dark green of the oak woods.
Casa Ombretta is part of ancient farmhouse that has been tastefully restored.
The structure and the large spaces of the ancient-times Tuscan country houses
have been kept intact. You will reach the apartment climbing six steps, and you
will be welcomed by a nice porch where you will be able to relax “al fresco”,
having in front of you only the green of the lawns and of the woods.
From the porch you can enter the nice living room furnished with a large sofa
and armchairs, satellite television, dining table, and kitchenette. The
comfortable kitchenette is equipped with four-burner cooker, dishwasher,
refrigerator with freezer, and small appliances.
A corridor will take you to the bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed, while
the other one has two single beds. The bedrooms are elegantly furnished with
wrought iron beds and drawers in Florentine style. One of the bathrooms has a
bath tub, the other has a shower. The corridor also takes you to a large private
terrace of approximately 20 square meters (215 square feet), which is equipped
with garden furniture. The terrace is located in a private corner of the
complex, and it has an oak wood at its back, and a wide view of the valley on
the front. It is a nice quiet place where you will be able to relax.
The apartment has one extra sleeping place that can be made available upon
request. As a guest of the complex you will also be able to use a shared
laundry.
Pets are allowed on the premises for a small additional fee to negotiate
directly with the owners.
The swimming pool (7 by 15 meters/23 by 50 feet, depth goes from 1.40
meters/4.6 feet to 1.70 meters/5.6 feet) is open from mid-May to the end of
September.
The house is equipped with central heating.
During your stay at Casa Ombretta you will be able to enjoy relaxing days by
the pool, walks, and bike or horse trips. Casa Ombretta will also be a great
base camp to visit the fascinating towns of Tuscany, rich in history and art.
Casa Ombretta is geographically located in the area between Florence, Siena and
Arezzo, which can all be reached with short day trips.
The house is located in the area where the Chianti wine is produced, and
where the Chianina cows are bred to make Florentine steaks, which are so
well-known to gourmets. In the area there are excellent restaurants where you
will be tempted by the famous specialties of Tuscan cuisine.
To stay at Casa Ombretta it is recommended to have a car. The house has a
parking lot.
Shops and bus stop are at approximately 700 meters (half a mile), in the
hamlet of Badia Agnano. An excellent restaurant is at approximately 3 km (2
miles). The closest airport is Florence, at 75 km (46 miles).

As a guest of Casa Ombretta you will be able to use a swimming pool of 7 by

swimming pool is surrounded by a neat lawn and equipped with tables, beach
umbrellas and deck chairs. Guests also have available a stone barbecue and a
laundry room with washing machines.
