Holiday Home Description

Casa Lena is a graceful apartment of 60 square meters (645 square feet), which sleeps five persons. It has a large terrace of 140 square meters (1500 square feet), with a view of the sea. It is approximately 100 meters (110 yards) from the beach.

Casa Lena is located in Atrani, a charming ancient fishermen's village, which is 900 meters (half a mile) from Amalfi.

It is an ancient house of the historical center of the village, just a few steps from the characteristic little square at the heart of Atrani, with its shops, bars and restaurants. From the square, going under an arch, you will be able to reach the beach.

From Casa Lena you will also be able to walk to another charming beach, just out of the village, that stretches in a small inlet in the rocky coast.

Casa Lena is an authentic ancient house of the coast of Amalfi, renovated with love by its owners, who spend their own vacations there.

It is in a quiet place, inset as it is among the alleys and stairways of the ancient burg. The place is comfortable as well, since with a short walk you will be able to reach the main road or the sea.

The house is on the first floor of the building. You will enter in a spacious living room, furnished with antique pieces, where you will find sofas, a satellite television and a dining table.

The floor, in the living room as in the rest of the house, is tiled with luminous hand-painted majolica tiles.

The living room is connected to an access area, from which you will be able to enter both the bedroom with a double bed and the second bedroom. The second bedroom has three single beds, and is placed on a mezzanine level, with a window, that you will be able to reach it along a wooden stair.

The rooms have high vaulted ceilings. This makes the house fresh even when outside is very hot. The windows, screened by candid flax curtains, have a view on the neighboring alleys.

From the living room, going through a winding staircase, you will reach the upper part of the house. There you will find the kitchen and the magnificent terrace. By the staircase you will find a corner with a washbasin and a fountain, and after a few steps there is the bathroom, small but well equipped, with a shower.

The kitchen, placed on the same level than the terrace, is equipped with a 4-burner gas stove, an oven, a refrigerator with a freezer, and washing machine. From the kitchen, two glass doors will let you enter the terrace, which is really spectacular.

Here your sight will move from a wide view of the sea to the picturesque burg of Atrani, which is made up by a dense set of small colored buildings. The buildings cling to slopes of the cliff, that in this place has the shape of a natural amphitheater, open toward the sea.

If you look down, you will enjoy the extraordinary "spontaneous" architecture of the village, made by a maze of domes, white terraces, narrow alleys and stairways. It is an important part of the charm of this coast.

The terrace of Casa Lena is a typical terrace of the Amalfi Coast. It is paved with ancient terracotta tiles, it has brickwork seats, decorated with fabulous hand-painted majolica tiles, pots with palm trees, flowers and, of course, a lemon tree.

In a corner, an outdoor shower will cool you when you will want to stay here and enjoy the sun. In another corner there is a small barbecue that you can use for your outdoor meals. Large umbrellas, tables, deck chairs and chairs are available for your relax.

Since access to Atrani is prohibited to cars, you will be able to reach Casa Lena by foot only, through a charming white alley, that stems from the main square, climbing 80 steps.

Shops and restaurants are close by. You can walk to Amalfi, both along the main road or along a romantic pedestrian alley, to avoid the nuisance of cars.

By foot, climbing an ancient stairway, you can also quickly reach Ravello, even more quickly than by car. And walking along this stairway you will be able to enjoy breathtaking views. During your stay, allow yourself the time to take these hikes. It is a great approach to the unique beauty of these places.

Besides being able to walk to the closest beaches, from the docks in Amalfi you will also be able to board small boats that will take you, in ten minutes, to some of the most beautiful beaches of the coast, which can only be reached by boat. These small beaches are very romantic, the sea is beautiful, and you will also find beach facilities, such as bars and restaurants.

From the docks in Amalfi you will also be able to board ferries and hydrofoils to Positano, Capri, Salerno, Sorrento and Naples, as well as mini-cruises for tourists. You must indeed take a tour of the coast from the sea.

From Casa Lena it is also easy and practical to reach the tourist spots of the Amalfi Coast by bus. If you are fond of archaeology, Pompeii, Herculaneum and Paestum are easily within reach, and, of course, Naples and Salerno as well.

Staying at this house you will be able, without the need of a car, to visit the famous beaches of the Amalfi Coast and the characteristic artisans' shops, to take guided tours, as well as attend the many cultural and artistic happenings that take place throughout the year. It has two bedrooms, a living room, one bathroom and a kitchen. One of the bedrooms has a double bed, the other, on a mezzanine level, has three single beds.

The bathroom has a shower. The kitchen is at the upper level of the house, where the terrace is also found, and can be entered climbing an internal stair. It is equipped with a 4-burner gas stove, a refrigerator with a freezer, and washing machine.

The terrace is equipped with umbrellas, deck chairs, tables, chairs, external shower and barbecue.

The rental price includes: final cleaning; electricity; heating; linens; towels.

A 25% deposit is paid at the time of booking. The balance is due 60 days prior to arrival at the property.

Upon arrival at Casa Lena the property manager will ask you to pay a security deposit of EUR 100, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you prior to your departure less any charges for accidental damages to the property.
