What guests of Casa Donata say Ian Horsley, Auckland, New Zealand September 4, 2010 - We found Casa Donata dark inside but this may be the style of building in Tuscany. We actually had no view from the building or from the outdoor seating, but if we stood on tiptoes we could see a view over the hedge. The pool and gardens were immaculate. We enjoyed fresh produce from the vegetable garden. But overall it was dark with no views and the owner was quite reserved. There was tons to do with amazing sightseeing and adventuring really close by. It was a very accessible distance from Florence, Pisa and Siena. We drove to the train station and travelled from there to avoid parking problems. The local supermarket was close, walkable, and had everything we needed. Great service, no problems. The view is stunning, very convenient location to grocery and town but still in the countryside. We enjoyed our stay here immensely. The drive is not too long to Siena, Florence and surrounding areas. The town of Montaione is very charming. We wish we had planned for more time in the immediate area. We loved picking fresh vegetables from the garden and cooking a quick summer supper. The owners were helpful, friendly, and nice. It was peaceful-- with the exception of the birds that did not sleep. A nice cool reprive after day trips to Florence. This villa is central to all of Tuscany and even Umbria. Lots of day tripping, lying by the pool and enjoying the splendid delights of the farm!
